How the quote adds up

Each phase or item has a price. A fixed price is the price; hours × rate is the hours times your rate. Project costs are added, and together they make the summary. VAT is worked out once, on the summary, not line by line, so the cents always match. Every amount is in whole cents, rounded once.

Common questions

Is this quote generator free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no account. It runs in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to us.

How do I save the quote as a PDF?

Press Download PDF. Your browser's print window opens. Choose "Save as PDF" as the printer and save the file.

Should I show phases or items?

Phases suit project work where each step has its own price, like architecture or design. Items suit work you sell by quantity, like hours, days or pieces. You can switch at any time, and your rows stay the same.

Do I have to add VAT?

It depends on where you work and who your client is. Choose Add VAT for most quotes. Choose small business if you don't charge VAT (in Germany, § 19 UStG). Choose reverse charge for a business client in another EU country. If you're not sure, ask your tax adviser.

Is a quote binding?

Often, yes. In Germany, for example, a quote is an offer that binds you if the client accepts it before the valid-until date. Pick a validity you can keep, and list what is not included so the price covers what it says.

Where is my quote saved?

Only in this browser. Your details and logo stay for the next quote. Clear your browser data and they are gone.
