Questions about Phased

Clear answers about features, plans, billing, data, and support. If your question is not here, Ask directly.

Is the free plan actually free?

Yes. Free never expires and requires no card. It includes the drag calendar and timer, up to 3 active projects with 2 phases each, and unlimited tasks, clients, and archived projects. You also get time budgets, an estimated value for client hours, client-facing Time Reports, CSV export, and a full JSON backup. Pro adds money budgets, hourly-earnings analysis, unlimited projects and phases, task groups, and branded Phase and Project Reports.

How do I get in?

Phased is currently opening accounts by invitation. Submit the request-access form and we will usually reply within one business day. Your 30-day Pro trial starts when you create the account, not when you request an invite.

Do I need a credit card?

No. The 30-day Pro trial requires no card and cannot turn into a paid subscription automatically. When it ends, your workspace moves to Free unless you choose Pro and enter payment details.

What does Phased cost?

Free costs €0. Pro costs €7 per month or €66 per year, which is €5.50 per month and 21% less than monthly billing. Prices exclude VAT, which is added at checkout for your country. Early subscribers keep the founding price while their subscription remains active. The pricing page lists every Free and Pro feature.

How does the 30-day trial work?

Every new account receives all Pro features for 30 days without a card. If you do not subscribe, the workspace moves to Free when the trial ends. Your data remains visible; projects above the Free limit and Pro-only fields become read-only until you upgrade. If you subscribe during the trial, the paid plan starts and you are charged that day. Unused trial days are not carried forward.

How do renewals and cancelling work?

Pro renews monthly or yearly until you cancel it. You can cancel from Settings at any time, with no notice period or cancellation fee. Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for, then the workspace moves to Free without deleting your data. Creem handles the payment, VAT, payment documents, and cancellation portal, and its name appears on your card statement.

What if I want a refund?

Write to support@phased.studio. Subscribing starts the service immediately at your request. EU consumers keep the 14-day right of withdrawal; the law would allow a proportionate charge for the days already supplied, and we currently waive it, refunding a first subscription period withdrawn within 14 days in full. The same first-period refund is open on request to any individual subscribing for their work; it does not extend to companies. We also correct double charges, charges after cancellation, and service failures through Creem whenever they occurred. The terms contain the complete policy.

Can I use Phased without phases?

Yes. A simple project shows no phase list, so you can track tasks and time normally. Add visible phases later if the project needs more structure. Budgets are optional in either setup.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. On a phone, the calendar shows one day at a time and the timer remains available in the dock. Projects, reports, and settings also work on the phone layout. A laptop or larger screen is more comfortable when you want to see and plan the full week.

Does it replace my billing tool?

No. Phased prepares client reports that show completed work, hours, agreed amounts, and any Additional Work you include. A saved report keeps the figures you approved. Phased does not charge clients, collect payments, or handle accounting, so keep using your existing billing tool for that part.

Will my client reports mention Phased?

A client-facing Time Report created on Free carries a small 'Made with Phased' credit. On Pro, you can use your own logo and studio details instead, with no Phased credit. Phase and Project Reports are Pro features.

Who is Phased best for?

Phased is designed for solo freelancers who sell project work, including designers, developers, consultants, architects, and 3D artists. It is most useful when a job has an agreed fee, several phases, revision rounds, or work you need to report clearly to a client.

Can my team use it?

Phased is built for one person. It has no team seats, roles, permissions, approvals, or staff planning. A growing agency that needs those features will eventually need a different product.

Where does my data live?

The primary database is hosted in the European Union. A private off-platform disaster-recovery backup is created daily and expires after 30 days, as described in the privacy notice. The marketing site does not use advertising trackers.

Can I take my data and leave?

Yes. Full CSV and JSON exports are available on Free and Pro. You can export your projects, phases, tasks, and time entries before closing the account or whenever you want an independent copy.

What counts as an active project?

Any project that is not archived counts as active. Archive a finished project and it stops counting toward the Free limit. Its time, budgets, and reports remain available.

How do I get help or report a problem?

Email support@phased.studio or use the contact page. Your message goes directly to the founder. Pro support receives priority, and the usual response target is within two business days.
